WHY THE WHALES CAME, Returning 2022

Following sell-out shows at The Drum Theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth in 2021, WHY THE WHALES CAME, the musical adaptation from Michael Morpurgo's book of the same name, is programmed to be on in August 2022 with British Youth Music Theatre.

Following a commission from a workshop adaptation in 2019 with British Youth Music Theatre, book writer and lyricist Nikki Racklin and composer Bella Barlow are delighted the show is coming back developed from it's debut outing in the Summer of 2021 following being postponed a year due to the pandemic.

The show received sell-out audiences and 5 star reviews in 2021 at The Drum Theatre with Direction by Simon Kane, Choreography and Movement Phyllida Crowley-Smith, Design Lu Herbert, and Musical Direction Bella Barlow.
