Why The Whales Came, a brand new musical adaptation from Michael Morpurgo's book of the same name, written by book writer and lyricist Nikki Racklin, and Composer Bella Barlow.

The Show had an original short workshop period in 2019 with British Youth Music Theatre with Director Simon Kane and Choreographer Phyllida Crowley-Smith with Musical Direction from Bella Barlow, which then was schedule to have a full production the following Summer of 2020. However, unfortunately, due to the Global Pandemic, BYMT had to cancel their whole Summer Season of shows. Delightfully, Why The Whales Came was re-programmed for August 2021, at The Drum Theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth and received sell-out audiences and 5 star reviews.
