A Right Royal Knees Up - Theatre Royal Haymarket

This evening, to celebrate the Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Royal Theatrical Fund celebrated their Patron's birthday at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

On Sunday the 5th of June, we were treated to exceptional guests of the theatre, TV, music and comedy world gracing the stage with songs, monologues and comedy sketches. Rob Brydon and Robert Lindsay were the perfect comedic duo both presenting a wealth of actors and actresses throughout the evening including the likes of Dame Maggie Smith and Sir Derek Jacobi.

Writing duo Barlow & Smith had they're song "Private Delight" performed by two time Olivier award winning actress Janie Dee in the second half of the show - it was a perfect song, written about Queen Elizabeth the first's sweet tooth, to honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second on her birthday.

Private Delight was originally commissioned for Dream Queen, an evening with Janie Dee and Friends at The Globe Theatre as part of the London Festival of Cabaret in the May of 2015. It was a fabulous evening to be involved with and some press photos coming soon!
